MISS POTTER IS HERE!

The long-awaited display in the TIC features pictures from the making of the film as well as actual set pieces. It was erected at the same time as the Brand New Lakeland Herdwick Wool Carpet kindly donated by Goodacres of Kendal.

Beatrix Potter Exhibition Coming To Coniston Cummunity TIC

This year we will feature part of a collection of historic horse drawn vehicles and period effects some of which appear in the forthcoming film about Beatrix Potter "Miss Potter"

Shot in the Lake District this spring, the film portrays the authors early life, before buying Hill Top Farm at Near Sawrey.

For the TIC we will recreate the cottage porch.

Many of the items we will display where used in shooting the film including the "red cart"!
Some of the filming of these scenes took place at Yew Tree Farm, Coniston, which has a walkers tea room originally established and furnished by Beatrix Potter.
The dates for this exhibitions will be posted on this sight just as soon as we can get the 'Red Cart' throught the doors!
